Songwe Border United head coach, Christopher Nyambose, has lamented that inexperience in his squad is contributing highly to his team’s regrettable performance in the TNM Super League. To date, they have only collected one out of a possible 27 points
In an interview with Wa Ganyu at Dedza Stadium on Sunday afternoon soon after losing 3-0 to Dedza Dynamos, Nyambose said his team is failing to cope with the top—tier heat due to the lack of experienced players in his squad.
“Let me accept this defeat. We managed to control the match throughout the first half, and we gave it in the second half. I have been saying that nzeru za Super League mapuleya anga ambiri alibe [most of my players are inexperienced].
“We got a lot of chances today but look, we have failed to utilise, this could be a game of many goals,” said Nyambose.
When asked about his plans as fixtures are still coming before the transfer window is opened, Nyambose said, “For now, I will use what I have. However, I plan to beef up the quad during the transfer window, I am optimistic that my team will survive.”
A brace from Gift Magola and a goal from Tayani Phiri were enough for Dedza Dynamos to collect maximum points over the bottom—placed rookies and climb up to position seven on the log table with 13 points.
Dedza’s coach Alex Ngwira praised his charges for the victory, saying he is still building up to find his first eleven.
“We missed several scoring opportunities. Anyway, I am happy that we have won, but the performance is not that convincing. I am still building the team hence I was changing the players,” he said.
