Nobody can celebrate defeat, however, Chatoloma Admarc coach, Lewis Dunduwiti Mhango surprised journalists on Wednesday afternoon when he said he was happy that his charges lost 9-2 to Blue Eagles in the Central Region Premier Division at Nankhaka Stadium.

Mhango said: “Let me thank God that we have lost today. We did not travel to Nankhaka to get a win but to learn from Blue Eagles.”

Four goals from Tonic Viyuyi and braces from Schumacher Kuwali and Andrew Jovinala with another goal from Laurent Banda were enough for the Malawi Police side to make a statement of intent.

The visitors were the first to find the back of the net through Willard Banda five minutes into the match before Kuwali equalised seven minutes later.

And in total, six goals were scored in the first half alone. Chatoloma got their second goal in the 78th minute through an Andrew Joseph strike of which it was not enough to rescue his side in the hands of fuming police men.

This is the first match in which the Area 30 side has conceded a goal out of four matches which they have played so far.

In a post-match interview, Eagles Coach Eliya Kananji said Chatoloma is a good side considering that it is the first team to get a goal from them.

“Every team in this league is looking for promotion including ourselves, I am optimistic that we will get it,” said Kananji.

Eagles who were relegated from the TNM Super League last year are on top of Group B with 12points from four matches.
