Today, Panthers booted out Civil Service United in the post penalties of Castel Challenge Cup. They are banking on penalty shootouts. At Civo Stadium today it was the same when they knocked out host Civil after regulation time ended goalless.
Against MAFCO, Silver Strikers and Chitipa United it was the same, eliminating those teams on penalty shootouts.
Panthers will meet Wanderers in the Semi finals of Castel Cup.
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 5-0 Bangwe All Stars
A hat-trick from Clement Nyondo and one each from Misheck Botomani and Sama Thierry were enough to boot out relegated side Bangwe All Stars 5-0.
With the victory, Wanderers are through to semifinals and will face giant killers Panthers FC at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
Hilltop FC 0-1 FCB Nyasa Big Bullets
Although Hilltop FC warned the defending champions not to expect a simple match, their dream of reaching quarter finals of Castel Cup has been destroyed after being booted out today by Bullets in the round of 16.
Hilltop defeated Chanthomba Academy in the round of 64 and Baka City to reach the round of 16. Bullets booted Kumanda FC and Changalume Barracks to reach this far. Bullets will meet MMF Marine in the quarterfinals in Dedza.
Karonga United 0 [1-3] 0 Mzuzu City Hammers
Mzuzu City Hammers needed post-match penalties to dump Karonga United out of the Castel Challenge Cup after a goalless stalemate in their quarter final tieKaronga Stadium.
In the shootout Isaiah Nyirenda, Chinonso Promise and Isaac Msiska scored for the visitors, while Blessings Mwalililino was the only scorer for Karonga United.
Mzuzu City Hammers will now play MMF Marine or FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the semi-finals.
