It’s not news any more. FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on knowledge of coach Kalisto Pasuwa’s imminent departure from the red half of Blantyre came up with three options for his possible replacement.
First move…
Bullets settled for former Mighty Mukuru Wanderers coach Mark Harrison who is now coaching UD Songo of Mozambique.
They approached him and what was remaining for a deal to proceed was an offer to entice him out of Mozambique as Wa Ganyu understands.
Second move…
While some officials were talking to Harrison, there was another suggestion to bring former Silver Strikers coach Pieter De Jongh who is still in Kenya.
Others had reservations about him despite confirmed call logs seen by Wa Ganyu. Nothing much explored on that deal.
Third move…
With all options on the table, one official introduced the name of Peter Mponda. It was difficult to deliberate about Mponda’s possibility of coming back to Blantyre as it was reported that he had extended his stay at Silver Strikers in Lilongwe.
“We are talking of money, let us give Mponda our offer, it is up to him to make a decision based on what he is getting at Silver,” chipped in another official telling Wa Ganyu.
Well, an offer was made, a tempting one for that matter. A salary of around K12 million, company car with fuel, company house and Dstv plus other benefits, which Mponda could not turn down.
“Mponda agreed to the offer, but he has some issues to work on at Silver, when done he will be joining us,” said the source.
Has Mponda signed already with Bullets? “No!” said the source to Wa Ganyu. “He asked for some time before signing. One of the issues was for him to resign at Silver which he has done.”
Mponda will be in Blantyre next week to finalize his Bullets return. This is a developing story and Wa Ganyu will keep you updated.
