Creck Sporting Club head coach Joseph Kamwendo is happy with the performance of his players despite a 1-0 defeat to his former club Mighty Wanderers in the TNM Super League at Champion Stadium in Mponela on Sunday.
“I am happy with the performance, and I strongly believe we will improve in the coming games. The boys showed great determination, and I have confidence in them,” said Kamwendo.
Addressing his rotation strategy, Kamwendo explained that he has a large pool of talent and bases his selections on players’ form during training. Notably, George Chaomba, Hadji Wali, and Brighton Munthali were on the bench.
On the other side, Wanderers head coach Bob Mpinganjira acknowledged the challenging nature of the game but was satisfied to walk away with all three points.
“It was a tough game. We created a lot of chances but failed to convert most of them. Fortunately, we managed to capitalize on one opportunity, and that was enough to win without conceding,” said Mpinganjira.
The decisive moment came in the 57th minute, when Francisco Madinga found the back of the net after receiving a well-placed pass from Promise Kamwendo. Madinga was later named Man of the Match for his influential display.
