Silver Strikers 2-0 Civil Service United
It was a matter of repeating the same story in today’s Lilongwe Derby. Last year Silver Strikers won the first round derby with two goals to nil.
This season on a different day and at a different venue the Central Bankers achieved the same result, a 2-0 win with different players scoring the goals.
Last year it was Innocent Shema and Charles Chipala while this year, Bankers scored through Festus Duwe who netted the opening goal in the first 12 minutes of the first half after connecting well with Chinsinsi Maonga.
Another goal came from Chimwemwe Idana who converted a penalty spot on 45 minutes after Civil Service United goalkeeper Blessings Juma fouled Emmanuel Allan.
