Three Creck Sporting players banned for assaulting Bullets players

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has taken disciplinary action against Creck Sporting Club and three of its players; Miracle Gabeya, Hadji Wali and George Chaomba for their involvement in a violent incident during an Airtel Top 8 match against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
According to the FAM’s disciplinary committee, the players were found guilty of assaulting their opponents, and the club was held responsible for failing to take necessary precautions to prevent the incident.

Chaomba has been handed a two—match ban for elbowing Bullets’ left back Henry Chiwaya in an off-ball incident. Wali has received a four—match suspension for stepping on Bullets’ attacker Maxwell Phodo’s hand and leg while Phodo was lying on the ground.

The Malawi FA has also banned Creck defender Miracle Gabeya for three matches for stepping on Bullets’ striker Babatunde Adepoju’s hand.
In addition to the player suspensions, Creck Sporting Club has been fined K1 million for failing to prevent their players from assaulting their opponents.
The fine is in accordance with the 2025 Airtel Top 8 Rules and Regulations and the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

The match was played on April 26, 2025, at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe, where FCB Nyasa Big Bullets secured a 1-0 win over Creck Sporting. Phodo scored the decisive goal with a 28th—minute header giving his team a 1-0 aggregate victory in the two—legged quarter-final match.
