Creck Sporting Club head coach Elia Kananji can finally breathe a sigh of relief after recording his first win as head coach since arrival on June 3 this year.
Kananji replaced Joseph Kamwendo but since his arrival, the team has lost all two games they have played under him, see Kwathu si padziko! Kananji finds it tough at Creck, no point since arrival – Wa Ganyu
Today at Aubrey Dimba ground, Kananji found his first three points over Moyale Barracks through a 7th minute goal from Frank Phiri who calmly slotted the ball home after receiving a precise pass from Dalitso Nahipa.
Speaking after the match, Kananji expressed his satisfaction with the result and praised his players for their resilience.
“I am very pleased that we have finally secured all three points. Most of the players who featured today have shown great commitment and helped us achieve this important win,” he said.
Kananji made six changes to the squad that lost to Civil Service United last week.
“When a team loses, changes are necessary. Today’s lineup responded well,” he added.
On the other hand, it was another frustrating outing for Moyale, who are coming from back to back defeats against Mzuzu City Hammers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
At Chitowe Stadium, a match between Mafco and Mighty Tigers ended 3-1 in favour of the home team Mafco. Mafco scored through Prince Kachere brace and Auspicious Kadzongola. Phillip Chavula pulled one back for Tigers.
While at Dedza Stadium, Ekhaya forced a goalless draw against the home team Dedza Dynamos.
