Chitipa United 0-2 FCB Nyasa Big Bullets

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have taken a temporary seat on top the TNM Super League following victory away against Chitipa United despite the home team protesting their defeat.

Henry Chiwaya sent the visitors ahead in the 23rd minute before Babatunde Adepoju doubled the lead in the 86th minute from the penalty spot after Chikumbutso Salima was brought down.

The result means The Peoples’ Team have 37 points from 16 games, they are 2 points clear of Mighty Wanderers who can regain top spot if they win away tomorrow against Mafxo FC at the Champion Stadium on Sunday.

Chitipa United played well before their home fans but could not find the back of the Bullets net hence suffering their first home defeat which did not please their fans who protested forcing police to fire tear gas.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Bullets coach Peter Mponda thanked his men for staging a good show.

“Credit must go to the guys. They worked very hard for these three points. It wasn’t an easy game,” said Mponda.

On his part, Chitipa United assistant coach Sullivan Kandulu attributed his team’s loss to players’ lack of self-belief.

“We were nervous, we lost too many balls today, so we got punished,” said Ikwanga.

Chikumbutso Salima was voted man of the match.
