Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President, Fleetwood Haiya, has sent his best wishes to Silver Strikers and Mighty Wanderers as they represent the country in this year’s CAF Inter-Club competitions.

In a message shared on his official Facebook page, Haiya urged Malawians to stand firmly behind the two sides as they carry the nation’s flag in the continental showpiece.

“I am urging all Malawians, the entire football fraternity, to go and support Mighty Wanderers and Silver Strikers when they are playing in their Champions League matches. These are our flag carriers and we need to support them. It is our duty to make sure we stand with our teams. I am calling upon you to come to Bingu National Stadium in large numbers when Wanderers play Jwaneng Galaxy from Botswana,” said Haiya.

Silver Strikers will take on Madagascar’s Elgeco Plus in the CAF Champions League this coming Sunday in Mauritius. On the same day, Mighty Wanderers will host Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe in the CAF Confederation Cup.
