Mighty Wanderers have ended an eight-year wait for the TNM Super League title after demolishing Moyale Barracks 6–0 at Kamuzu Stadium, clinching the championship with one match still to play. The last time they won the league was in 2017 and this is their seventh league title.
The victory confirmed Wanderers as champions following a commanding performance that underlined their dominance throughout the season. The Nomads controlled the match from start to finish, leaving Moyale with little room to respond.
Speaking after the match, head coach Bob Mpinganjira said the outcome did not surprise him, crediting the players’ sharpness and commitment displayed during training sessions.
“I am very happy with what the boys have done. It is exactly what we worked on in training. We have been complaining about goals, but this week we saw many goals during training, and that is why today we scored a lot,” said Mpinganjira.
Wanderers now sit top of the TNM Super League standings with 68 points from 29 matches and will conclude their campaign against Kamuzu Barracks in Balaka. Their closest rivals, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, remain second with 63 points from the same number of games. Bullets gave up early following their goalless draw against Mighty Tigers at Mpira Stadium. They will finish their season at home against Mzuzu City Hammers.
