Mighty Wanderers president Thomson Mpinganjira has set a tall order for the team, stating that they aim to win every football cup and the league in the 2026-2027 season.

Speaking during Wa Ganyu Exclusive program on Tuesday evening, Mpinganjira acknowledged that achieving this goal will not be easy, as every team also aspires to win something in the forthcoming season.

“If you ask me what our targets are for this coming season, I will tell you that we want to win everything. We want to defend the league and win all the cups,” he said.

However, Mpinganjira dismissed rumours circulating on social media suggesting that the team is going abroad for a pre-season tour.

“People are writing a lot, but what I can say is that I have been told by David Kanyenda that they are preparing the pre-season program, so it will depend on what Bob [Mpinganjira] and his assistant have planned. We will go by that,” he added.

Regarding transfers, Mpinganjira mentioned that some prominent foreign teams have expressed interest in some of the team’s players, but he refused to name specific players. He also stated that decisions about which players the club will sign are the prerogative of the technical panel.

In the 2025-2026 season, the Nomads managed to win the Super League after an eight-year drought. However, the team failed to defend the Castel Challenge Cup Championship, as they were knocked out by Mzuzu City Hammers, a team they had previously defeated in the final of the same cup last season.
