After playing five games without a goal and win, finally Prophet Bushiri boys have a reason to dance choruses as they find their first victory and a goal at home past Kamuzu Barracks in the 2026 FDH Bank Premiership on Sunday.
Chifuniro Mpinganjira netted the decisive goal in the 62nd minute to hand the hosts maximum points and move them off the bottom of the table.
At Karonga Stadium, Karonga United condemned the Red Lions to their first defeat of the season with a dramatic 1-0 victory. Godfrey Sibale struck in the 90th minute to secure all three points for the northern region outfit and lift them to eighth position on the standings. Despite the loss, Red Lions remain seventh with nine points from six matches.
Meanwhile, in Mwanza, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets maintained their unbeaten start to the season after rescuing a 1-1 draw against Moyale Barracks FC at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium. Lucky Mkandawire gave the visitors the lead in the 56th minute before George Chaomba scored deep into stoppage time in the 95th minute to earn Bullets a point.
The draw leaves Bullets sixth on the log table with 10 points from six matches, having recorded two wins and four draws without tasting defeat.
Elsewhere, defending champions Mighty Wanderers returned to the summit of the standings in emphatic fashion after thrashing Chitipa United 4-0 at Chitipa Stadium. Isaac Kaliati opened the scoring in the sixth minute before an own goal by Blessings Joseph doubled the visitors’ advantage four minutes later. Lameck Mithi and Muhammad Sulumba added further goals in the 32nd and 82nd minutes respectively.
The victory sees Wanderers lead the table with 13 points, level with Silver Strikers but ahead on goal difference, while Blue Eagles occupy third place with the same number of points.
After six rounds of matches, Creck Sporting Club remain rooted at the bottom of the table with two points and are still searching for their first win of the season.
