Struggling Dedza Dynamos ended FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ unbeaten run in the FDH Premiership with a narrow 1-0 victory over the Blantyre giants at Dedza Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

A 39th-minute header from Marco Chiwaya secured all three points for Dedza, lifting them out of the relegation zone and boosting their hopes for survival.

Overall, Dedza outplayed Bullets in both halves, consistently winning possession and dominating the match.

After the match, Bullets’ Assistant Coach Heston Munthali admitted his side had been outplayed, adding that the team played as if they were being forced.

“We played as if we were being forced. We did not create chances that could have given us goals,” he said.

Dedza’s Assistant Coach, Luke Milanzie, praised his players for their strong performance and revealed the team is aiming to finish in the top 10 by the end of the first round.

“After we lost to Chitipa last weekend, we told the boys to forget that result. We trained hard and worked on our weaknesses, and I’m happy they delivered today. We want to be in the top 10 at the end of this round,” he said.

Following the victory, Dedza moves up to 12th place with 11 points, while Bullets sit fourth with 20 points. Both teams have played 11 matches.
