Mighty Wanderers President Thomson Mpinganjira has bought training equipment worth over K100 million for the club’s four teams as part of efforts to improve player performance and strengthen preparations for matches.

The equipment includes man markers, resistance bands, foam rollers, yoga mats, tracksuits and training kits which will be used by the club’s senior and junior teams.

Speaking during the handover ceremony at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Tuesday morning, Wanderers board member and director of Football David Kanyenda thanked Mpinganjira for the investment, describing it as a major boost for the players, especially the senior team, which will represent Malawi in the CAF Champions League.

Kanyenda said the Nomads have set ambitious targets for the season that include winning every competition they are participating in while also reaching the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

“Our target is to win all the trophies in Malawi and reach the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
“We have already won the Charity Shield Cup, and we are in the semi-finals of the Airtel Top 8. We will win the Airtel Top 8, we are on top of the league, and we can also win it,” said Kanyenda.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Welloce Kachingwe also praised Mpinganjira for the donation, saying the equipment will help the club prepare its teams more effectively.

He said the club remains committed to defending the FDH Bank Premiership title and will continue motivating players by paying match bonuses on time throughout the season.
