Moyale Barracks held Mighty Wanderers to a one-all draw in the FDH Bank Premiership at Mzuzu Stadium today.

The Nomads took an early lead when Gaddie Chirwa found the back of the net in the seventh minute, finishing off Lameck Mithi’s pass.

However, Moyale refused to give up and were rewarded for their persistence when Lucky Mkandawire equalised in the eighty-fifth minute.

Speaking after the match, Moyale Barracks head coach Prichard Mwansa said his side did not perform well, particularly in the first half.

“We did not perform well, especially in the first half. We made only one mistake in six minutes, and they scored,” said Mwansa.

Mighty Wanderers head coach Bob Mpinganjira accepted his side’s one-all draw against Moyale Barracks, saying the Nomads failed to make the most of their chances.

Mpinganjira said Wanderers controlled the game but were punished for failing to score more goals.

“We were on top of everything, but we did not score enough goals. Sometimes, when you do not score, you get punished. So, we have got one point. It is all right for now. I accept the result and look forward to the next game,” said Mpinganjira.

As a result, Wanderers drop from first to third place in the league table after sharing the points, while Moyale walk away with a valuable point.
