Baka yet to see victory in four matches

The most disappointing story is to travel over 1800 kilometres to Blantyre and return without a point and extending their winless run now to four.

But the performance at Kamuzu Stadium was not that disappointing as they lost 2-1 to defending Champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the TNM Super League.

To the rookies it was almost an achievement to score at Kamuzu Stadium and managed to hold Bullets in the second half as they sweated to score which was not possible.

It was impressive for the visitors to draw first blood in the 13 minutes into the first half Geoffrey Mwakyembe who scored after Bullets defenders were caught napping at the back.

It was jubilation to the Ganyu fans but they were silenced eight minutes later when Ephraim Kondowe finished the ball from a rebound after goalkeeper Omary Hamiss had blocked Lanjesi Nkhoma’s shot.

First half ended with Bullets leading after Chawanangwa Gumbo connected a defender Gomezgani Chirwa’s cross with three minutes to half time.

Baka displayed brilliant football through counterattacks through Ngesa Mwafulirwa and Gule Mwaisope but it was not possible to break Clyde Senaji and Colin Mujuru defensive skills.

Second half the visitor made changes so was the home team but it was difficult for Baka to level scores. They could win the ball from the back, penetrate into Bullets half but breaking the defence was a challenge.

Baka struggled to have a shot on target despite creating two scoring opportunities. It ended 2-1 to Bullets who have recorded their first win at home after a 0-0 draw to Tigers at home.

Baka’s coach Davie Muyombe conceded defeat saying they planned to win but it was not that possible while Kallisto Pasuwa was happy with three points.

Mujuru was voted man of the match after registering two shots on target, four intercepts plus his brilliant dribbles.

Baka is second from bottom with one point from four games while Bullets have moved to third with 8 points from 4 games.
