Baka’s journey in the wilderness, no win in 8 games

TNM Super League newcomers,Baka City continue the search for their first win in the top flight after giving away a first half lead to draw with fellow rookies Creck Sporting Club at Karonga Stadium.

Going into their 8th game of the season sitting 16th in the table, Baka had the chance to move a step up in the standings but a rather slow start did not give the small crowd much confidence.

It took the home side 15 minutes to win their first corner which was poorly taken for the visitors to clear. But from then on Baka City started showing signs of hunger for goals.

Geoffrey Mwakyembe sounded the first warning to Creck Sporting Club in the 24th minute when his effort from long range went wide.

Then Mwakyembe put Baka ahead just after the half-hour mark when his thunderous shot from a direct free kick proved too hot for Creck Sporting keeper Charles Chisale.

Creck Sporting Club sensing danger, raised their game after the break. They pulled out striker Babangida Ishaya and Anold Kiyama with Dalitso Nahipa and Gift Kadawati taking their places.

The change proved successful just minutes later when Ademol Ajibola scored in the 68th minute with a cool finish following a calculated attack with Stain Patrick providing the assist.

From then on, the game swung from end –to-end with either side looking for a winning goal but the two sides could not be separated until the end.

Baka City remain stuck at the foot of the table with 3 points from 8 games while Creck Sporting Club are in mid-table.
