Bullets stumble again in Dedza

For a record fifth time, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are yet to record victory in the league at Dedza Stadium.

The only positive result has been a draw; otherwise it’s been a story of defeats against Dedza Dynamos or the now defunct Masters Security.

This time around they thought of changing this narrative, aiming to collect three points as their assistant coach Michael Ngore had indicated ahead of the match.

“Every dog has its day,” he said not knowing what the day will become.

After the match it was the same old story, Bullets departed the cold district with just a point leaving head coach Kallisto Pasuwa fuming of poor officiating.

“The officiation was a problem, people wanted to take advantage of us. We have been talking about this problem but nothing is being done. We lost Maxwell Phodo but not even a yellow card was given,” he said after the match.

While Dedza coach Andrew Bunya was not happy that Bullets had gotten a point at Dedza saying his side plotted to beat them again.

“We gave them a bonus of a point, not satisfied yet because we wanted to take all points,” he said.

How the match progressed?

First half was almost a balanced game but it was the home team with clear scoring opportunities within 20 minutes of the half.

They created numerous scoring opportunities but they struggled to have an attempt on target. Most of their shots went over the stadium leaving their supporters wondering.

Bullets failed to settle at the back within the same time as Rodwell Robert caused problems. He was nowhere near after 25 minutes as the Bullets defense was able to contain him.

Bullets were ahead in 38 minutes through substitute Ephraim Kondowe who replaced an injured Maxwell Phodo.

Kondowe took a rebound after Donnex Mwakasinga had fumbled a Patrick Mwaungulu shot.

In the second half, the home team made triple substitutions introducing Hadji Kung’unde, Ibrahim Sadick and Chifuniro Mpinganjira for Victor Lungu, Rodwell Robert and Joseph Balakasi.

Dedza was a changed side and found the back of the net in 62 minutes from Promise Kamwendo whose shot went into the empty net after goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu had left his area to clear the ball which he missed.

Despite massive threats from Bullets strikers, Dedza could not open for them as Mwakasinga stopped three dangerous shots and he was voted man of the match.

Mwakasinga was named man of the match for standing resilient to Bullets’ attacks
