Champions Silver finishes the 2024 journey in style as FOMO, Bangwe and Baka are relegated

Silver Strikers 5-2 Dedza Dynamos

Silver Strikers were officially crowned 2024 TNM Super League in fantastic style as they walloped Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos 5-2 on the final day of the season at Silver Stadium.

It looked like a game of few goals when Silver Stikers led 1-0 at half time thanks to a Chimwemwe ldana 8th minute goal.

But the flood gates opened in the second half after both sides made some changes.

Gift Chunga scored a brace for Silver Strikers with the other goals coming from Duncan Nyoni and Zebron Kalima, whereas Gift Magola scored a brace for Dedza, the first goal came from a penalty.

It was a befitting ending to the season for Silver Strikers, who have been imperious, having lost just one game in 30 games.


FOMO, Bangwe and Baka relegated

Fomo 0-0 Karonga

They were safe before kick-off sitting 13th on the log table but FOMO FC failed to utilize their chances as they failed to beat Karonga United in Mulanje.
They will blame themselves as they found numerous chances to score but squandered them including a penalty which they were given with 6 minutes to go but Afana Amin fires the ball over.

The game ended goalless and it was Chitipa United who replaced them. FOMO has finished on position 14 meaning they have been relegated.

Bangwe All Stars 1-4 Creck Sporting

Creck SC has surpassed their previous scoreline during their first meeting with Bangwe which ended 1-0 in their favour.

Today, they scored 4 goals to finish 7th and finds themselves a place in the Airtel Top 8 next season.

Bangwe has said goodbye to the elite league while sitting 14th with 6 wins, 9 draws and 15 loses.


Baka City 1-3 Chitipa United

Chitipa United’s desire of remaining in the TNM super league comes true as they have finished 13th after defeating Baka City.

In their first meeting it ended 4-1 in favour of Chitipa and today it ended 3-1 and Chitipa will remain in the league following FOMO’s result.

Baka played their last match in the elite league as the rookies have been relegated after finishing bottom with 13 points.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 Kamuzu Barracks

Eight minutes strike from Stanley Billiat which was deflected into the net was enough for the host FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to collect maximum points over Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The win means that Kamuzu Barracks’ dream to finish in top 8 is over and the military side has finished on position 10 with 37 points. While Bullets finished third with 55 points. In 2023, Bullets finished top with 60 points while Kamuzu Barracks were fifth with 46 points.

Moyale Barracks 1-2 Mighty Mukuru Wanderers

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers avenged the painful defeat they suffered in the first round against Moyale on the closing day of the 2024 season in Blantyre.

A goal from Mischeck Botoman in the first half fired the Nomads ahead before Isaac Kaliati doubled the lead in the second half a goal that stretched his tally to 17 goals.

The 71st goal meant Kaliati has broken last season’s tally with a goal as Clement Nyondo won the golden boot with 16 goals. 
Emmanuel Allan scored the consolation goal for Moyale who finish eighth on the standings with 39 points.


Mighty Tigers 1-0 Civil Service United

The Kau Kau boys gave their supporters the last laugh when they denied Civil Service United a place into the top 4 courtesy of the 1-0 victory they registered.

The first half strike was enough for Mighty Tigers to register their eighth win of the season from the 30 games and finish 12 on the standings.

MAFCO 0-3 Mzuzu Hammers

No place for MAFCO in the next Airtel Top 8 season as the Salima solders finished 9th position in this season’s journey.

Hammers have hammered MAFCO to comfortably finish their journey on forth position with 48 points.
