Ekhaya FC coach Enos Chatama and Silver Strikers manager Peter Mgangira are disappointed with the officiating personnel who took charge of their matches on Wednesday in the TNM Super League.
Ekhaya lost 1-0 to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets with Babatunde Adepoju scoring the lone goal—connecting home a lovely Henry Chiwaya delivery from the free kick at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
While Silver collected maximum points at Aubrey Dimba stadium beating home team Creck Sporting Club 2-1 with all goals scored by Silver players. Nickson Mwase scored an own goal to help Creck while Uchizi Vunga and Binwell Katinji scored for the Central Bankers.
Speaking after the match, Chatama said Bullets benefited from a dubious free kick which ultimately led to the match’s only goal. Chatama believes the call was incorrect and is now calling for more balanced officiating in future matches to ensure fairness for all teams.
“They scored a goal from the free kick, that was a gift but there was no contact, if you can go back to the video replays. They benefitted from a giveaway freekick, the referee gave them a dubious free kick. I believe in certain games we need proper officiating personnel,” said Chatama.
Mgangira, despite victory over Creck, he was not pleased with the officiation. “Some of these referees’ decisions are questionable, I mean, you try to talk to them but how they will respond it’s as if you’re talking to an animal not a fellow human being. They want us not to speak,” said Mgangira.
In other matches, Mighty Wanderers secured maximum points at Karonga Stadium following their victory over struggling Songwe Border United. Songwe was an improved side holding Wanderers the whole of first half before giving it away in the second half by letting in two goals from Wisdom Mpinganjira and Blessings Mwalilino.
Kamuzu Barracks forced a 1-all draw against Civil Service United at Champions Stadium in Dowa. Civil were first to score through Dasten Banda before Olson Kanjira levelled the matters.

Following Wednesday’s results, Bullets topped the league with 27 points from 10 matches with Wanderers coming second with 26 points from the same number of matches. The defending champions, Silver Strikers, sit in fourth place with 18 points from 9 matches.
