Chilobwe United have secured promotion to the NBS Bank National Division League following a dominant four nil victory over Chilomoni FC at Moneymen Ground in Blantyre on Wednesday, 18 December 2025.

The win takes Chilobwe United to 56 points from 28 matches, enough to seal promotion with two games two games to spare. Although they are level on points with Ekhaya Reserve, Chilobwe United claim the promotion place as Ekhaya Reserve are barred from moving up under current football regulations governing reserve teams.

The promotion crowns a remarkable rise for the Chilobwe based side, who were only established in 2024. In their debut season, the club won the Betika Division One League, lifting the title on 15 December 2024 at Balaka Stadium after a four two penalty shootout victory following a goalless draw in regulation time.

Assistant coach Rafffic Mussah hailed unity and commitment as the key factors behind the team’s achievement.

“I am happy that the ambition we had has been fulfilled. It was a long journey, but teamwork made it possible,” said Mussah.
“We ask the people of Chilobwe to continue supporting us as we prepare to compete in the National Division League.”

Despite already securing promotion, Chilobwe United still have league fixtures against Liberty FC and Nsanje United to complete the season. The technical panel says these matches will be used to maintain momentum ahead of their National Division League campaign.
