Chitipa United held Mighty Wanderers to a goalless draw in a tightly contested TNM Super League match on Sunday, 30 November 2025, at Chitipa Stadium.
The match was finely balanced, with Chitipa United applying consistent pressure on the Nomads from start to finish. Although Wanderers were not below par, they failed to capitalise on the chances they created. Blessings Mwalilino, Muhammad and Rajab Nyirenda all tried to break the deadlock, but none could find the target.
Chitipa United also fashioned several clear scoring opportunities, but like their opponents, were let down by poor finishing in the final third.
Both teams made second-half substitutions to inject fresh legs and heighten their attacking threat. However, the changes failed to produce the desired impact, as tactical adjustments from either side did not translate into goals.
Chitipa’s Fahad Mtcheka was named Man of the Match following an outstanding performance that kept Wanderers’ attack at bay throughout the 90 minutes.
Speaking after the match, Mighty Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira described the encounter as a good game, though he admitted the result was not what they had hoped for. He nonetheless acknowledged that earning a point away from home remains valuable.
When asked about rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets—who lost 2–0 to Creck Sporting Club—Mpinganjira stressed that his focus remains on Wanderers, not on other teams.
“We will make sure that we collect all the necessary points in the remaining matches. At this stage of the league, every team is fighting its own battles,” he said.
Looking ahead, Mpinganjira noted that their upcoming fixture against Mzuzu City Hammers on Wednesday, 3 December, will be a tough assignment, as they face a side battling relegation. Even so, he expressed confidence in his ability to push for a win.
Chitipa United coach Kondwa Ikwangwa said their game plan was strong, but the team struggled in the first half despite creating good chances that they failed to convert.
The draw leaves Mighty Wanderers level on 56 points with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. Bullets have played 25 matches, while Wanderers have played 24, giving the Nomads a game in hand as the title race continues to intensify.
