The COSAFA Women’s Championship which was supposed to happen in 2025 has been postponed.
This decision was made because they could not find a host country to organize the event. Therefore, they have planned to hold the tournament in early 2026.
According to the statement released signed by Executive Director, Sue Destombes, COSAFA is now talking to some potential hosts to make sure the Championship can still happen successfully next year.
“COSAFA is currently engaging with potential hosts to ensure the successful delivery of this competition,” reads part of the statement.
“The tournament is foreseen to take place in the first quarter of 2026, with further details to be communicated in due course,” it reads.
Last year, the tournament was held in Gqeberha, South Africa from October 22 to November 2.
