A brace from George Chaomba and one from Babangida Ishaya helped Creck SC earn a 3-2 home victory over Mzuzu-based soldiers Moyale Barracks to continue their winning record in the topflight league.
Despite falling behind to an own goal in the fifth minute, Babangida Ishaya pounced on a rebound to bring the rookies level after 35 minutes.
In the second half, Moyale came with more questions, throwing everything on Creck FC and their efforts paid off at 52 minutes when striker Prince Phiri was released by Luke Chima He rounded off a helpless Charles before slotting home to give the Kaning’ina soldiers a deserved lead.
In response, Coach Macdonald Mtetemera made four changes, booting out Tathedwa Willard, Gift Kadawati, Stain Patrick and captain Hadji Wali. Instead, he brought in Yasin Chida, Hardy Ng’andu, Arnold Kiyama and eventual goalscorer, George Chaomba.
Luck fell Chaomba’s way in the 67th minute when he pounced on a loose ball to level scores before returning returned on the 80th minute to claim his brace for the day, beating an advancing Simfukwe who was exposed by his defenders.
From there, Creck were on the front foot in a frenetic closure.
