Silver Strikers 2-1 Dedza Dynamos
After failing to score against Mafco FC, Ekhaya FC, Mighty Wanderers and Blue Eagles, Dedza chalked their first goal against Silver Strikers on Wednesday.
Despite losing the game, Dedza played well and made it hard for Silver Strikers to collect maximum points in their backyard.
Chinsinsi Maonga connected with McDonald Lameck’s cross to open the game just 3 minutes of the opening half. But Dedza levelled at 29th minute through Marko Chiwaya, who headed in from Gift Magola’s corner kick.
When the game was at ease and it looked like points were to be shared, Binwell Katinji scored a beauty on 80 minutes after connecting well from Chipala’s cross, helping his team collect three key points to put pressure on Bullets and Wanderers ahead.
Speaking after the game, Silver Strikers assistant coach Mapopa Msukwa expressed his admiration for the team’s performance, acknowledging that they have a lineup of tough fixtures.
“It was a good match thanks to the boys, it’s becoming tough for our team because it seems like we are playing four games in seven, so managing the pressure, we should thank the boys,” said Msukwa.
Despite scoring their first goal in 5 games, Dedza Dynamos coach Alex Ngwira remains unsatisfied, feeling there is still room for improvement.
“I am not satisfied, we had so many chances, at least we would have gotten 2 or 3 goals, but we are falling behind because we are failing to score,” said Ngwira.
Just like their previous match against Ekhaya, the Banker’s Levison Maganizo was voted man of the match.
