Following their 2-1 victory over Wimbe United on Sunday, January 5, Blue Eagles FC now only need a point from their three games remaining to secure their return to the TNM Super League.
Away to Wimbe, the home team took an early lead through Elimiya Phiri finish but Eagles quickly regained their composure and responded well to win the match 2-1 with goals from Trouble Banda and Micium Mhone.
Eagles have been a dominant force in the Chipiku League since the competition began in April 2024, showing strong performance throughout the season. Their success was not only evident in their league form but also in their remarkable run to the FDH Bank Cup final, where they emerged victorious over FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
In the Chipiku league, Eagles have 51 points from 19 matches, Eagles lead the 12-team league, having won 15 matches, drawn 3, and scored 45 goals while conceding just 9.
Villa FC is in second place with 39 points. Despite winning their remaining four matches, Villa can only reach 51 points, still falling short of Eagles’ current tally.
