Fischer Kondowe severs ties with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets

Barely a day after reports went viral on social media that FCB Nyasa Big Bullets had fired second assistant coach Fischer Kondowe, the club has officially confirmed that the former wingleft his position.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the club announced that Kondowe has parted ways with the team by mutual consent.

“Kondowe, who first joined the team more than two decades ago, has been an integral part of the club both as a player and as a coach,” read part of the statement.

Earlier, both the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Albert Chigoga and Kondowe himself declined to comment when approached to shed light on the upshot.

Speaking to Bullets, Media ,Chigoga later confirmed the departure Kondowe from the club.

He said both the club and Kondowe agreed to part ways, adding that the reasons behind the decision will remain private out of respect for the former player.

“Kondowe knows the reasons why we decided to release him. He was informed, and as one of our respected legends, we value and honor him.

“It is not good to embarrass each other by making those reasons public. The club and Kondowe have handled this matter respectfully.”said Chigoga.

The Bullets CEO also dismissed reportd that Kondowe was influencing players poor form during matches.

“Those rumors are not true. People should stop spreading false information that can damage reputations. What happened is an internal matter, and we have resolved it properly.”Chigoga stressed.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have recently been struggling with form, having suffered two defeats against arch-rivals Mighty Wanderers one in the TNM Super League and another in the FDH Bank Cup semifinals.

The Peoples team also settled for a goalless draw away against Blue Eagles in their latest league fixture.

Bullets are placed 2nd in the TNM Super League,. They have 50 points from 22 games. They trail the leaders Mighty Wanderers by one point.

Kondowe began his career with the club’s reserve side in 1996 before being promoted to the senior team in 1998. After retiring from active football in 2022, he was appointed as the team’s fitness trainer under head coach Kalisto Pasuwa.

His departure marks the end of an era for one of Bullets’ most loyal servants, who contributed immensely to the club’s success both on and off the field.
