Green Rangers Football Club, a newly promoted team to the Central Region Football League Premier Division, is seeking financial support from companies, organizations, and well-wishers as they prepare for the 2025 season.
The Lilongwe-based club, which finished as runners-up in the Central Region Division One League last season, has been relying on an individual. However, with the challenges of competing at a higher level, the club now hopes to secure sponsorship or long-term partnerships to sustain its ambitions.
Club official James Kasambala emphasized the importance of financial backing, stating that playing in the Premier Division comes with increased expenses.
“Modern football heavily depends on financial resources. Ensuring the welfare of players and covering operational costs requires significant investment. Competing at this level is completely different from Division One, so we need strong financial support,” said Kasambala.
“We are appealing to companies, organizations, and well-wishers to partner with us or sponsor the club. Sponsorship will be mutually beneficial, as we will help promote our partners while strengthening our team,” he added.
With the league scheduled to begin on May 31, Green Rangers plan to start their pre-season training on April 8, beginning with player trials to strengthen their squad.
The trials will be open to players aged between 18 and 25 years old.
