Week Four May 16 & 17 2026: FDH Bank Premiership
The week produced contrasting fortunes, with others maintaining their unbeaten record; some teams are still in the wilderness, trying to discover the winning formula as coaches are still getting suspensions.
At the bottom end of the table, Goshen City Dedza Dynamos, Creck Sporting Club, Karonga United and Mafco FC are still searching for consistency after failing to register convincing results in the opening weeks of the campaign.
Dedza Dynamos still searching for a goal, win
Now in their fifth season in the FDH Bank Premiership, Goshen City Dedza Dynamos are enduring a difficult start to the campaign after failing to register a win or score a goal in their opening four matches.
They have played four matches, drawing once and losing three. Their only point came in a goalless draw against Moyale Barracks before suffering defeats to Civil Service United (1-0), Red Lions (3-0) and Blue Eagles (2-0)—conceding six goals and sitting at the bottom of the table with a single point.
Following the disappointing run, the club’s management reportedly handed head coach Alex Ngwira and his technical panel a three-game ultimatum to improve results, but the side continues to struggle.
In 2024, out of the opening four games, Dedza drew three games—a 1-1 to Bullets at home, 1-1 against Silver away and 0-0 draw against Moyale Barracks at home and they lost once to Civil Service United (3-1) away.
In the 2025 season, in their opening four matches, Dedza had two victories and two defeats; winning 4-1 away to Creck and 2-0 at home against Chitipa United. They lost 1-0 away to Mzuzu City Hammers and 2-0 away to Mighty Tigers.

Creck cracked, yet to get maximum points, suspends coach
Creck Sporting Club have also endured a difficult start to the season after failing to register a victory in four matches.
The side has drawn against Mafco FC and Red Lions, while suffering defeats to Mighty Wanderers and Kamuzu Barracks—putting them second from the bottom of the standings with two points.
Creck have scored three goals and conceded six. Following the poor run of results, the club suspended head coach Eliya Kananji together with assistant coach Harry Saidi on Sunday, 17 May 2026.
First win for Ekhaya, coach still on leave
The Cowboys have their first victory coming after a disappointing three opening games in which they only recorded one draw and two defeats. For those results, they sent their head coach Enos Chatama on leave.
On Saturday they danced at Mpira Stadium, celebrating a 2-0 victory over Moyale Barracks. Ekhaya has suffered defeats from Eagles (2-0) and Civil (1-0) drawing 1-1 to Red Lions. They are 9th with 4 points.
A Karonga struggle at home
Karonga United are another side battling for form despite playing some of their matches at Karonga Stadium.
The northern region outfit has managed two draws against Kamuzu Barracks and Mafco FC but suffered a 2-1 defeat to Masters FC at home.
Karonga United have accumulated two points from three matches, scoring three goals and conceding four. They currently occupy 14th position on the table.
Mafco FC keep searching for a first victory
Mafco FC is yet to taste victory after four matches. The Salima-based soldiers lost 1-0 to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and registered draws against Luanar Mitundu FC, Creck Sporting Club and Karonga United.
Mafco have scored two goals and conceded three as they sit 13th on the standings.
Meanwhile, Moyale Barracks have collected four points from four matches. The Mzuzu-based side secured a 3-2 victory over Chitipa United but suffered defeats to Silver Strikers and Ekhaya FC, in addition to a draw against Dedza Dynamos.
Moyale have scored four goals and conceded eight, leaving them in 12th position.
Bankers, Nomads back to winning ways
Silver Strikers bounced back strongly on Saturday, 17 May 2026, with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Masters FC. Goals from Andrew Joseph, Festus Duwe and Macdonald Lameck guided the Central Bankers to victory following their week three 1-0 defeat to Blue Eagles.
The reigning 2025 FDH Bank Cup champions now sit at the top of the table with 9 points from four matches, having scored 9 goals and conceded only two. Bankers are the only side to have scored more goals this far.
Coming from a disappointing 2-1 defeat to their rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Wanderers collected all the points in Dedza against Luanar Mitundu Baptist where they scored two goals.
Nomads have wins over Creck Sporting (2-1), Mitundu (2-0) and a defeat to Bullets. They are 7th with 6 points. Their opening match was postponed against Karonga.
Eagles keep flying
Following victory last week past log leaders Silver Strikers, Blue Eagles found another victory away in Dedza hammering the home team Dedza Dynamos 2-0.
Eagles fly second on the table but equal on points with the Bankers. The Area 30 police headquarters has won matches against Silver Strikers, Dedza Dynamos and Ekhaya FC, with their only defeat coming against Chitipa United away. They have scored five goals and conceded two.
Masters mastered, suffer first defeat to Bankers
After three wins in three games, Masters FC have been mastered by league leaders Silver Strikers—thrashing the Peter Mponda side 3-0 at Silver Stadium on Sunday.
Masters FC has also won three matches against Chitipa United, Karonga United and Luanar Mitundu FC, with their only loss coming against Silver Strikers. They are third on the table with 9 points.
Cold Bullets fires blank again in Mwanza
Their opening match at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium they failed to score a goal, it was then the visitors, Mafco FC who helped them with a goal, it was an own goal that gave Bullets maximum points.
On Sunday it was their second attempt to give Mwanza people a goal, but instead it ended goalless.
The 2025 Airtel Top 8 and Castel Challenge Cup champions have recorded victories over Mighty Wanderers (2-1) and Mafco FC (1-0) while drawing against Red Lions (0-0) and Civil Service United (2-2).
Bullets have scored five goals and conceded three, placing them fourth on the table as the title race continues to gather momentum.
