Soccer fanatics will have to wait a little longer to see Jojanneke Janssen from Netherlands in action for Kukoma Mtopwa queens.
The 26-year-old left winger has penned a season-long contract with the Amaghetto Queens.
However, she will not be part of the incoming Goshen Women’s National Championship as the rules only permits players that were part of the regional competitions.
Speaking to Wa Ganyu, Isaac Jomo Osman, owner of Kukoma Mtopwa Queens, expressed hope that Janssen will be a great addition to the squad as they are optimistic of making a return to the regional stage.
“She will not be part of our squad for this National Championship according to the rules but she promises to be a player that will add value to our team in future assignments,” said Jomo
Responding to how the player found her way to Mtopwa, Jomo said she is in the country for other assignments and because of her love for football she availed herself to the Bangwe based side.
Janssen will be the second player from Netherlands to play in the Women’s Football Tournament in Malawi after FCB Nyasa Big Bullets ladies Anne van Els.
