The Blantyre District Youth Football Committee has overturned the result of a heated fixture between Nyambadwe United FC and Manchester Motor Spares FC, awarding the match to Manchester Motor Spares after confirming that Nyambadwe fielded 12 players instead of the permitted 11.
The match, played under the National Youth Football Association calendar, had originally ended 4–3 in favour of Nyambadwe United. However, officials later established that Nyambadwe scored two second-half goals while an extra player was on the pitch, a breach of both the FIFA Laws of the Game and the NYFA 2025 regulations.
A disciplinary hearing was convened to assess the incident.
The Disciplinary and Competitions Committee issued the following decisions:
The match is awarded to Manchester Motor Spares FC (0–3). Nyambadwe United FC receives a formal warning for poor player supervision.
A recommendation has been made for the referee involved to be barred from officiating Nyambadwe fixtures until further notice.
Nyambadwe United may appeal the ruling within 48 hours, subject to payment of the required appeal fee.
The Committee reminded teams, coaches and match officials to strictly adhere to FIFA and NYFA regulations to safeguard the integrity of all competitions.
