Creck Sporting General Secretary’s letter to coaches over the weekend was simple and direct.
“For the next three games, it is imperative that the team secures a minimum of seven points. Failure to do so will result in further disciplinary action which may include dismissal from your positions.”
The letter was coming after the team had just managed three wins in eight games.
Head coach MacDonald Nginde Mtetemera and his assistant Joseph Kamwendo took three days to respond, in their own handwriting by beating soldiers Mafco FC at their home ground in Dwangwa on June 1.
A late strike from Yasin Chida was the weapon the rookies needed to destroy and claim all the points over Mafco who are coming from an away victory against Bangwe All Stars last week.
Peter Katsonga fired the home team ahead at 14 minutes from a direct freekick, a lead they well defended to recess.
Both sides had equal chances in the first half but good saves and misses kept the scores unchanged.
In the last half Gift Kadawati levelled the scores at 52 minutes to ignite fire in the visitors who dominated in quest to find the lead in the game.
As it looked like spoils would be shared, George Chaomba released a beautiful pass to Chida who slotted home to snatch the lead at 87 minutes.
At the elapse of regulation time and the added 5 minutes Eness Gumbo blew her whistle to confirm the return to winning ways of the rookies.
With the win, Creck Sporting now stands eighth on the log table with 14 points from 9 games.
Meanwhile, in Blantyre, a lone goal from Raphael Phiri at 23 minutes was enough for Moyale to inflict back to back loses to the Kaukau boys.
Moyale who were coming from a home barren draw against defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on Monday were facing Mighty Tigers who had their first home defeat in week 8 against Kamuzu Barracks.
Moyale Barracks has now accumulated 14 points from nine games and are seventh on the log table with Mighty Tigers on 10th with eleventh points
