Franco Ndawa and Eliah Kananji head coach and assistant respectively for Civil FC have been sent on forced leave following the side’s poor run of form this season.
Officials from the executive committee summoned the two, in the wake of the team’s tough outing. The side has found the going tough and scoring boots have not been available for the team.
The Lilongwe based team is off the bottom ten in the league and has been eliminated in the FDH Cup.
On Saturday, the team however was able to end a miserable run when they claimed a 1 nil win over Mafco.
Speaking to Wa Ganyu General Secretary of Civil Service United Ronald Chiwaula confirmed the development saying both parties have duly been informed and that there is nothing sinister about it.
He described the move as normal in the team’s managerial choices.
“We surely met with the coaches on Friday and this is normal in corporate governance, it is just unfortunate that the meeting coincided with the poor run of the team but I can confirm that the outcome of the meeting has been fully communicated to the coaches and you will be told the way forward on the same,” said Chiwaula.
Meanwhile, media reports are indicating that Civil Service United is planning to bring back their former player and coach Oscar Kaunda who left to join Mighty Wanderers in May 2019 before leaving the Nomads earlier this year to join Karonga United.
