Wa Ganyu Here To Confirm
Wa Ganyu can confirm that the Malawi National Football Team coach Kalisto Pasuwa has invited FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Babatunde Adepoju to join camp ahead of the Namibia and Liberia matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
A source told us: “In fact the player was already on the list but since his papers were not ready for him to play for Malawi, they had to wait for clearance.
“Now he is working in getting Malawi papers—his papers might be ready by tomorrow meaning that after that, he will be in camp. By the way, his application was submitted alongside that of Mayele Malango,” the source told Wa Ganyu.
The source also said Pasuwa will soon have the services of Jubril Okedina who plays for Cambridge United in the United Kingdom as his papers are also ready to play for Malawi.
Okedina played for Malawi during the Four Nations Tournament under Patrick Mabedi but had no papers to play for Malawi.
In July this year, Adepoju, a Nigerian, expressed interest to play for Malawi during an interview with Bullets Media Team, indicating that: “Malawi has given me a lot. It has made me a football star. So, definitely, I would like to give back to the nation if an opportunity comes.”
Adepoju arrived in Malawi in 2017 when he joined Blue Eagles before moving to Masters Security where he helped the team to win the Carlsberg Cup.

In 2019, he joined Mighty Wanderers and in 2021 dumped the team for Bullets where he established himself by winning the 2022 TNM Super League season top goal-scorer to become the first foreigner to do so with 18 goals.
The same year, he won the 2022 FDH Bank Cup top goal-scorer award and the 2021 Airtel Top 8 Golden Boot plus player of the season award.
In 2023 he was sold to Venda Football Club in South Africa but struggled to settle and he has been loaned back to Bullets until the end of this year.
Adepoju has scored 11 league goals this season in 15 games assisting two goals.
