Reserve Bank has removed three Board Members at Silver Strikers Football Club namely, Wa Ganyu can confirm.
These are George Chiusiwa, Edwin Mpeni and Willard Chakanika.
A source at Reserve Bank says the three have served their maximum two terms, three years each term making a total of six years.
“We stick to the rules that a person can only serve to a maximum 6 years as a Director of the Board at Silver Strikers,” a source told Wa Ganyu.
RBM has maintained the administrator Dr George Kaudza Masina, Lawyer Chrispine Sibande, Dr Lameck Chinula, accountant Mirriam Zulu and Company Secretary Peter Masiye as part of the new board for the next three years.
Reserve Bank is expected to appoint five new board members to join the team of Kaudza Masina, Sibande, Chinula, Zulu and Masiye.
Daudi Mtanthiko who was also part of the Board left in 2024 to join FAM Executive. Another Director Chiyambi Mataya also resigned in 2024 to start work in Somalia. Therefore Reserve Bank has to appoint five new board members.
Reserve Bank of Malawi is busy now sourcing the CVs of new Board Members and interviewing some people to be considered for appointment.
