Relegation battle down to the wire

So, nobody is safe yet. Bangwe All Stars, FOMO FC and Chitipa United need serious prayers to be rescued from the relegation following today’s league results.

Today’s results saw FOMO and Chitipa collecting crucial full points which means the final day of the league will decide the one who will remain in the league.

In Mulanje:
Fomo managed to get a sigh of relief following the remarkable 1-0 win over Silver Strikers to move out of the relegation zone.

A 85th minute lone goal from Prince Kajore was the wonder they needed to move a point ahead of Bangwe at 28 and dislodges Bangwe on the 13th place.

The win also ends the unbeaten run of the Champions elect Silver Strikers.

In Karonga:

It was the same case in the northern region where Chitipa United kept alive their slim hopes of avoiding relegation following a comfortable 2-0 win over Moyale Barracks at Karonga Stadium.

Christopher Nyambose’s men secured a goal in each half to secure the vital victory that saw them move to within a point of 14th placed Bangwe going into the final day of the season.

Trouble Kajani lived up to his name by troubling Moyale with an early goal on six minutes and Francis Nyirenda doubled the lead in the 77th minute.

The three teams will be on their knees asking their gods to help them as they play their last game which will determine the one to be relegated.
