The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) Disciplinary Committee has handed down a verdict against defending champions Silver Strikers Football Club—finding the club guilty on all three charges.
The ruling follows an investigation into recent breaches of conduct when their supporters entered the pitch and poured urine on Mafco FC players on July 10. Sulom has since fined Silver a total of MK1 750 000.00 (one million seven hundred fifty thousand kwacha).
In addition to the financial penalty, the Central Bankers have been issued a suspended stadium ban. They will not use their home ground for the remainder of the season; however, this sanction is suspended for a period of three months.
According to Sulom, if Silver Strikers commit any further misconduct within the next three months, the stadium ban will be automatically enforced without further hearings.
The disciplinary committee has emphasised that the fines must be paid before the club’s next official fixture, failing which Silver Strikers will face point deductions in the league standings.
In a statement, Sulom reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity across all levels of competition. The league body urged all clubs to take a proactive role in educating their players, technical staff, and supporters on upholding the values of fair play and order.
“Any future incidents of violence or disorder will be met with appropriate and firm action. Let us all work together to preserve the spirit of football and create a safe environment for everyone,” reads part of the statement.
