Silver Strikers winning streak continued in week eight of the TNM Super League when they thumped Karonga United 4-2 on Saturday at Silver Stadium.
Peter Mponda maintained his team that beat Mighty Wanderers at the same venue in the previous week.
It only took five minutes for the home team to break the deadlock when Uchizi Vunga found the back of the net in a style with a thunderbolt shot outside the box following a beautiful pass from Zebron Kalima
The goal looked like the missing puzzle for the visitors to settle down in the game as they enjoyed some beautiful football building attack from behind.
Their effort materialised at 23 minutes when Saulos Moyo capitalised on the mixup in Silver’s half to beat George Chikooka in goals.
Mponda was forced to make a change taking out Adiel Kaduya who received a knock and in his place Mark Fodya was thrown into the flare.
It was all square at recess.
Come the second half Mponda made another change resting Captain Chikondi Kamanga for Patrick Macheso as they continued to press for a goal to restore their lead.
It was at 66 minutes when Stain Davie was introduced for Charles Chipala. Four minutes later Fodya slotted home a Vunga pass outside the box to restore the lead
The lead was short lived as Nanisoni Mbewe levelled the scores at 74 minutes
Substitute Davie registered his name on the score sheet at 80 minutes before Chimwemwe Idana sealed the win for the Bankers in the additional minutes.
Speaking after the match Mponda was delighted with the win but was quick to say their performance was below par
On the other hand Oscar Kaunda for Karonga United blamed the officiation for the loss.
