The race for first-round supremacy in the 2026/27 FDH Bank Premiership is heading for a thrilling conclusion, with four teams separated by just two points as the opening round enters its final stage.

Silver Strikers moved to the top of the table on Sunday after playing out a goalless draw against Goshen City Dedza Dynamos. The result took the Central Bankers to 29 points from 14 matches, level on points with second-placed Mighty Wanderers but ahead on goal difference.

Silver Strikers have scored 23 goals and conceded just five, giving them a goal difference of +18, while Wanderers have scored 26 and conceded nine for a +17 goal difference.

Blue Eagles are third on 28 points, while FCB Nyasa Big Bullets occupy fourth position with 27 points.

The standings set up a potentially dramatic finish, with the top four all still capable of influencing the final shape of the table when the first round concludes.

Wanderers will face Eagles in their final first-round fixture, while Silver Strikers will take on Bullets.

A win for Silver Strikers would take them to 32 points, while Wanderers would also reach 32 points if they defeat Eagles.

Meanwhile, Eagles would move to 31 points with victory over Wanderers, while a win for Bullets would take them to 30 points.

The permutations could make the final round particularly intriguing. If both matches end in draws, Silver Strikers and Wanderers would move to 30 points each, with the Central Bankers retaining the advantage on goal difference.

Should both matches end goalless, Silver Strikers would finish the first round at the summit, with their superior goal difference keeping them ahead of Wanderers.

However, the outcome of either match could completely reshape the top of the table.

With Silver Strikers, Wanderers, Eagles and Bullets all fighting for maximum points, the final round promises a tense battle for first-round honours in the Premiership.
