Where should they start from? It has been defeats from day one. Will Songwe Border United survive in the TNM Super League?

The newly promoted side continues to struggle to find its first win—having lost all four games played so far.

On Saturday afternoon, the Ndenga boys lost 2-1 to Ekhaya FC at Karonga Ground.

The match got off to a flying start, with Dickson Mwangonde scoring for the home team in the 3rd minute. However, Ekhaya equalized through Christopher Gototo in the 18th minute, making it one-all at halftime.

In the second half, Ekhaya made some changes, introducing James Lumbe and Wongani Kaponya for Christopher Gototo and Lovemore Mbeta.

The substitutions brought energy to the Cowboys, and Stanley Billiat scored the second goal for Ekhaya in the 62nd minute, securing a 2-1 win.

After the game, Songwe coach Enock Mhone expressed disappointment with the loss, citing unnecessary goals conceded.

“It’s painful that we lost points at home despite taking the lead. We apologize to our followers for the painful results.”

“When we play well, we shouldn’t concede goals we didn’t need to. Our defenders slept on both goals. You could see they were just standing there while Ekhaya attacked,” said Mhone.

Mhone vowed to work towards getting results as soon as possible.

“Even if it takes time to start doing well, we believe we will improve. The administration can decide on reinforcements. Our job is to identify weaknesses on the pitch. It might take some time, but winning is near,” he added.

Songwe has conceded 14 goals and scored only one in four games, sitting at the bottom of the table with zero points.

Following the win Ekhaya FC now sits second with nine points from four games.
