To me the game ended goalless—Hammers coach

Mzuzu City Hammers coach Elias Chirambo is refusing to accept that his team has lost 1-0 to Mighty Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium.

To Chirambo, the match ended goalless claiming that the referee Shaibu Kassim was wrong in awarding the home team a penalty at 88 minutes.

Kassim awarded Wanderers a penalty following a foul on Wisdom Mpinganjira and they utilized the spot kick at 90 minutes through Isaac Kaliati.

“That should not be a penalty, I am not accepting this,” he reacted.

The referee awarded them a fake penalty, to me the match ended goalless,” he added.

Chirambo said when coming to Blantyre, he told his boys that: “To have more players at the back because we will be playing with referees and the home team.”

Wanderers dominated the match but failed to break Hammers defence. A few chances they created failed to put the ball behind the net as goalkeeper Joseph Fulawo was on point to clear.

Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira was a happy man to have collected maximum points and open the gap with second placed side FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to five points. Nomads have played 12 games with Bullets 11.

In other games, Songwe Border United kept donating points following a 5-0 defeat to Civil Service United in Lilongwe.

Micium Mhone scored the only goal to help Blue Eagles collect all the points away to Karonga United.
