Mafco 3-2 Hammers
A bad day for Mzuzu City Hammers defender Jimmy Msiska. He scored a brace in his own net helping opponent Mafco FC at Chitowe Ground to beat his side 3-2.
Despite a brace which came in a space of two minutes, he could not win the man of the match accolade as Rodwell Robert of Mafco won it.
The hosts got the lead in the 13th minute through Robert who was assisted by Peter Kasonga before the visitors equalized through Samson Olatubosun in the 44th minute from a rebound.
As the second half kicked off, Yasin Rashid found the back of the net in the 55th minute assisted by Eric Kaonga, giving the visitors a lead.
As things heated off, Mafco ignited the fire which gave pressure to the visitors and saw Msiska walk out of the match with a brace of OGs conceding at 65 and 67 minutes.
Despite the defeat, Hammers coach Lackson Mauluka Nyoni said his boys will bounce back.
Mafco coach, Stereo Gondwe says he is very happy that they have secured 3 points at home.
In another match, Civil Service United secured a point away to Moyale Barracks following a one-all draw at Mzuzu Stadium. The home team scored first through Maneno Nyoni before Damiyano Kunje levelled.
