Vitumbiko Kumwenda SAGA

Silver Strikers went into discussions with Blue Eagles with a plan to buy player Vitumbiko Kumwenda.

A transfer fee of K4 million was agreed between the two.

Remaining was to officially start negotiations on personal terms with the player.

Next, Blue Eagles break the story on their Facebook page that Silver has signed the player, when nothing has been done between Silver and Vitumbiko.

Vitu’s manager Amakhosi Jere says: “Silver have shown interest but we haven’t had any discussion. The procedure is that they need to talk to the parent club [Eagles] before us.

In short: “There is no agreement or discussions with Silver Strikers. In fact, the player yesterday trained with Eagles.”

Meaning it was a social media deal? Silver says “no comment.”

Why did the Eagles go on to announce when the deal was not done? Eagles Vice General Secretary William Nkhoma’s Response: “I can confirm that Blue Eagles has agreed to transfer Vitumbiko Kumwenda to Silver Strikers after they reached an agreement. Silver agreed a transfer fee of K4 million. They have paid and the player is now a Banker.”

Reports are that Vitu signed a pre-contract with Wanderers and cashed already. What will happen then? Nkhoma again: “On the issue of Wanderers you know that the deal flopped and it was canceled. So there is no issue between Wanderers and Blue Eagles although they showed interest but it was too late after Silver had completed the transfer processes.”
