Ekhaya FC head coach Enos Chatama says his team is struggling due to the absence of players who can lead and organize others on the pitch.
Chatama made the remarks after his side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Blue Eagles on Saturday afternoon in a TNM Super League match played at Kamuzu Stadium.
“We need to change our mentality as a team. We are lacking leaders in the field of play who can organize other players. Today, we were just poor, we were complacent which seems to be a motto in the team,” said Chatama.
Blue Eagles head coach Derkleck Msakakuona praised his players for sticking to the game plan, saying the victory was a huge morale booster after suffering two consecutive defeats.
James Lumbe opened the scoring for Ekhaya FC in the 5th minute, but Blue Eagles equalized through Tonic Viyuyi before Micium Mhone netted the winner.
Following the result, Eagles moved to 7th position on the log table with 31 points from 22 games, while Ekhaya dropped to 6th with 32 points from 21 matches.
