Silver Strikers 3-1 Ekhaya FC

Ekhaya FC came to Silver Stadium to play good football but it was Silver Strikers who scored goals and in the end collected maximum points after 3-1 victory over the rookies.

This means Ekhaya has lost to all big clubs in the TNM Super League. They lost by a goal margin to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers before heavy defeat to defending champions today.

Their coach Enos Chatama said his men played good football but were not clinical in front as they missed their scoring chances.

We played good football, enterprising football, created chance after chance but only we were not composed in front, we had better chances than Silver. At this far we are below par, Silver have a lot of experienced players. Time will come and we will challenge them,” he said.

Silver broke the deadlock on 40 minutes through substitute Charles Chipala who connected well from a corner kick which was taken by Chinsinsi Maonga.

And five minutes later Maonga scored straight from a corner kick to double their lead at half.

Second half began with the Central Bankers pressing for another goal. On 53 minutes Uchizi Vunga netted the third goal after beating Ekhaya keeper Elias Missi with a beautiful shot.

Ekhaya pulled one back at 81 minutes through Andrew Lameck from a penalty following a handball by Silver defenders.

Bankers coach Peter Mgangira expressed his satisfaction with the results.

“We are very happy for the three points, it’s not easy to come and display this kind of football after losing the cup final,” said Mgangira.

Levison Maganizo who last week missed a penalty to deny his side from winning the Airtel Top 8 was voted man of the match following his incredible play.

In other games, Wanderers failed to open a 8-point gap ahead of Bullets after drawing away to Moyale Barracks. Promised Kamwendo gave Nomads an early lead before Jimmy Viyuyu levelled scores to force a 1-1 draw.

Nomads are still top with 33 points from from 13 games with Bullets second with 27 points from 11 games and Silver are third with 23 points from 12 games. Ekhaya come fourth with 23 points from 14 games.
