With few days to go, before the kick off of Four Nations Junior Tournament, Zambia has pulled out of the tournament.
The tournament that was supposed to host four countries namely; Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Kenya under 20 teams.
The tournament was organized by Football Associations from the four countries to give an opportunity for the four countries to prepare for the competitions.
Reasons behind Zambia decision to pull out of the competition are not yet known.
After Zambia pulling out of the competition; the tournament format changed from a cup format to a league format as the remaining three teams are expected to face one another from 21st to 24th March this year.
The Under 20 tournament, will be hosted 2 years after Malawi hosted COSAFA under 17 cup.
Earlier, the tournament was supposed to be hosted at Bingu Nations Stadium in the capital, but after the delay the venue has been shifted to Silver Stadium in the capital Lilongwe.
Malawi will face Zimbabwe in the first match, and their final encounter will be against Kenya. Meanwhile, Kenya will face Zimbabwe in the first encounter before facing Malawi in the final match.
The Malawi under 20 call-up has drawn negative reactions from the public as Coach Bob Mpinganjira is being criticized for including in the squad over-aged players.
