The Silver Strikers Football Club has said the Betway shirt sponsorship has had a positive impact on the club, leading to improved performance in the current season.
In an interview with Silver chief executive officer Patrick Chimimba, he stated that morale has significantly increased, motivating the players and the supporters of the Lilongwe based side.
“Morale has improved among both players and supporters, as Betway is an internationally recognised brand. By wearing the same logo as West Ham players, our players’ morale has been boosted, leading to a significant improvement in our performance this season,” explained Chimimba.
He further added that the partnership has strengthened the team’s financial capabilities and hopes that the partnership will extend beyond shirt sponsorship.
Betway’s chief operations officer for Malawi, Charles Phiri, acknowledged the fruitful partnership which has led to a significant increase in sports fans using the Betway brand.
“Our goal was to establish Betway as a long-term presence in Malawi, and since the partnership launch, we have seen a substantial increase in sports fans associating with our brand,” Phiri said.
Currently, Silver Strikers top the TNM Super League table opening a nine-point gap. They have 30 points.
