After two decades of participation, White Eagles FC—a Malawi Police Service team based in Kanjeza, will not be taking part in the Southern Region Football Association league this year due to financial difficulties.

Wa Ganyu can confirm that players have been given the freedom to explore opportunities with other clubs, as the club has effectively been disbanded.

An official from the club expressed uncertainty about the club’s future, revealing that they were only recently informed about the financial struggles.

“We are worried because we haven’t started training ahead of the kick off, and we are unsure what the future holds,” he said.

The Southern Region Football Association league is set to kick off on April 26 with the opening match between FOMO Reserve and Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve at Mulanje Park Stadium.
