As the Malawi national football team, the Flames, gear up to face South Africa in the second leg of the Chan qualifiers on Sunday 11th May, head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has voiced confidence in his team’s abilities.

Pasuwa pointed out the importance of staying focused and positive as they take on their Bafana Bafana in their backyard.

We are going for the second half, and it’s not yet done until it is done,” Pasuwa said after concluding preparations in Malawi.

We need to be very positive in whatever we do,” he added.

Pasuwa underlined South Africa’s possession-based playing style, noting that they tend to keep the ball away from their opponents. However, he emphasized that the Flames won’t just defend; they will also attack.

The coach has shown satisfaction with the team’s preparations, with all players in good shape except Zebron Kalima, who will not join the team due to injury.

The Flames won the first leg match which was played at Bingu National Stadium last Saturday with a goal from Zeliati Nkhoma in the dying minutes.
